Town of Ocean City Resolution No. 2018-12: This Resolution establishing the BPAC was <br />reviewed — the Resolution provides a brief history and reasons why the OC BPAC was <br />established. <br />2. BPAC Bylaws: The Bylaws were reviewed. <br />a. The Responsibilities of the BPAC Members are defined in Page 1, 11.13 and these <br />Responsibilities can be thought of as a checklist for the BPAC to complete. <br />b. Membership is defined on Page 1, III of the Bylaws and all members have been <br />appointed by the Mayor. A list of the BPAC Members is provided as an <br />attachment to the Meeting Minutes. Terms of membership were staggered <br />among Members. <br />c. SHA Member: A member from SHA is still needed for this group. Hal Adkins is <br />reaching out to SHA to help bring on a member. <br />d. Meeting Interval and Reoccurrence: In accordance with Bylaws, Page 2, IV.A, the <br />BPAC set the meetings to be every month, the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at <br />3:00 PM at City Hall, in the Executive Conference Room. An Outlook meeting <br />invite will be sent out to all Members. <br />3. Reasons WHY OC BPAC was developed were discussed, including: Enhanced Safety, Grant <br />opportunities, Tourism, Health & Recreation, Increased Property Values, Traffic <br />Reduction. <br />4. The question of "WHAT is a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC)" was discussed. <br />a. "As of 2017, more than 800 communities have applied, and 416 have been <br />awarded a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum designation." <br />
