DISCUSSION ITEMS: 15.1. Review&Approve 2019.09.11 Meeting Minutes and Action Items: a. Paul reviewed the Meeting Minutes and Action Items with the Committee. b. Tony motioned to approve,Allen seconded, none opposed. 15.2. Lights on Bikes Program—status update (Allen Hawk,Tony DeLuca): a. Allen reported results of Bicycle Light Distribution and Bicycle Collisions in Town as noted on the chart below. The OCPD had installed all lights from their inventory. b. Allen advised that the Maryland Highway Safety Office had provided him with approximately 150 additional bike lights for distribution. c. J-1 Student Education—status update (Mike Steinen): a. Mike was not in attendance, no report b. Motion was made to table further updates until March 2020 15.4. Bike Route project updates: a. West OC Hiker/ Biker Trail project update (Jana Potvin): i. Jana advised that the construction was on schedule, and is to be completed by the end of 2019. b. 146th Street DE Connection (Paul Mauser): i. Paul is planning to have a design in place by Memorial Day weekend. c. Montego Bay(Paul Mauser): i. Grant Application was submitted and was not approved by MDOT Bikeways. ii. Paul advised the application will be resubmitted next year. iii. Hal and Paul discussed the possibility of the development of the Bicycle Masterplan and seek grant funding for specific design plans. 15.5. BFC Application—status update (Paul Mauser): a. Application completed and submitted on August 7th b. Awards will be announced in November. 15.6. Shared Use Path—Philadelphia Avenue (west sidewalk) N Division Street to S 1St Street (Jana Potvin & Hal Adkins). a. Jana advised there is no timeline for completion. Jana began discussion on pathway beginning/endpoints (Caroline St. and S 15t St) and signage. Paul is to review options further c. Tony advised he was asked in a Council meeting about the possibility of a crosswalk under the Rt 50 bridge. Jana was to look into the possibility. d. Hal advised that sidewalk improvements south of Caroline 5t were scheduled to begin next week. Hal and Paul to discuss possible designs to be shared use compliant. 15.7. Updates on Impediments (Tony DeLuca and Hal Adkins): a. 67th Street has been resolved b. Siesta Villa, possibilities are being discussed c. 72nd St / 73rd St has a spring completion date. Hal advised it will be graded and wide enough for bicycle use. 15.8. Ocean City Strava Profile (Rick Wawrzeniak): a. Rick advised he had collaborated with Jessica Waters and the profile is now active and currently in the Beta Stage. b. Rick suggested creating stages/routes to be placed on the profile. c. Rick suggested the possibility of creating a Strava Profile Persona much like "Rodney the lifeguard" d. Rick is to complete the Boardwalk stage on the profile. (Action Item) If there are any corrections to the Meeting Minutes, please notify the author within seven (7) calendar days. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13tH Page 3 of 3
